Home/Office
Networking
A network
is a group of computers, printers, and other devices that are
connected together with cables or via wireless connections.
Information
travels over the cables/transmission, allowing network users to
exchange documents & data with each other, print to the same
printers, and generally share any hardware or software that is
connected to the network. These days, more and more households are
using two or more computers. Home networks are becoming increasingly
common to realize the opportunities sharing computers has to offer!
This also stands true for the office.

Having
your in-home network for more than one computer is easier than you
think. Diva Computing can bring those systems together into one
uniform network. You'll then have access to machines and laptops with
internet connectivity from any PC in the house or office. Consult with
our own in-house Network Administrator to gain a better understanding
of what will be required. An example of a home network and/or office
network has been provided here. Networks have some
assembly rules. Cabling, for example, has to be of certain lengths and
type, each cable can only support a certain amount of network traffic,
etc. Phone line networks can also
be installed, using your existing home phone wires.
Your
current internet connection will also be taken into consideration.
Diva Computing recommends you upgrade to DSL/Cable service when
starting any network. Although standard phone dial-up will work,
Broadband and DSL provide much faster service. A standard DSL/Broadband
connection will normally enable you to download pictures, video, and
text about twenty times faster than a 56.K dial-up modem in common use
today. Basically, a 2 minute
wait for an images or video is received in 10
seconds with Broadband/DSL Internet access. (Actual Broadband
speeds vary among Broadband service providers).
The
consultation for your network is free. Afterwards, we will provide a
complete cost analysis for installation and equipment. Most home
networks run under $300.00 installed. Call us at 781-320-0080 or email
us for a consultation request.
Diva
Computing will also take care of your networks security needs using
both Zone Alarm and/or Symantec Internet Security networking
products.
